Imagine working everyday for the person you love, but can never truly have.

Summary:

When Michael Oliver’s neatly laid out career path took a sharp right turn from Afghanistan to Washington D.C., he figured his training as a US Army Ranger would never let him down. But swapping fatigues and combat gear for a dark suit and earpiece, he almost paid the supreme price guarding the Speaker of the House.

Then he found himself guarding the quirky little Senator from Los Angeles whom no one ever imagined might come to win the White House.

Not that he’d ever imagined falling in love with the man either, but there was no escaping it.

Michael had a plan though. It was a well thought out, long term plan that would have allowed him to finally retire away from the one person he could never truly have, and focus all his efforts on the Patron Saints Winery he’d bought years before in California.

But a bunch of domestic terrorists and a woman with a grudge, decided to get in the way first, leaving Michael and his Secret Service Team to do the unthinkable in their fight to save the President of the United States:

‘Shoot the hostage’

The Secret Service Agent: Editing Draft

We’re getting close!

This is what 5 hand written notebooks look like printed out!

Red marks.

Added notes and scenes.

How do you spell that again?

Discreet or Discrete?

What’s that dude’s name again, and what the hell was he wearing?

When did the bowtie disapear?

What floor are we on!?

Oh and page flags for more notes!

The Secret Service Agent: Second Draft

Once upon a time in a notebook far far away …

Well not that far away!

After the synopsis, research, and sketched out drawings the full story fills five composition notebooks.  (Got them cheap at an Office Max ‘Going out of Business’ sale!!! A writer’s dream!)

PS: Yes this was written out by hand … I do this the old fashioned way.  Lots of swearing and crossings out.  Oh and coffee, lots of coffee.

The Secret Service Agent: First Draft

As I get closer to finishing the last edits and prepping the book for publishing, I thought it would be cool to look back at the various stages of writing ‘TSSA’.

The first draft: Where the idea began and how it slowly came together.  It started off as 88 pages worth of simple concept, with notes, research, and even drawn out floor plans.  No detail is too small at this stage.
